Why I’m Running
As a proud mother, education consultant, and community advocate, I believe it is my responsibility to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive & succeed.
My husband, Geovanni, and I have dedicated our lives to education—he as a principal and I work to recruit and train diverse educators.
I believe every child deserves a high-quality education and the support of dedicated adults who believe in their potential.
This belief is deeply personal to me because I've lived it.
Growing up, I experienced firsthand the transformative power of education. My journey began in Los Angeles, where I was an honors student.
However, life took an unexpected turn when my family moved to Tennessee, where I faced challenges, including bullying and racism, that tested my resilience.
Despite these hurdles, with the help of dedicated educators and a supportive community in Phoenix, I was able to graduate on time and pursue my dreams.
This is why I’ve devoted my career to education—I want to ensure future generations have the same opportunities to succeed.
Our community’s students deserve the skills and opportunities to be successful in a rapidly changing world. Our current education system is not meeting the needs of all our students.
In Arizona, we face significant challenges, including disparities in student outcomes and a lack of diverse educators. We must take immediate action to address these issues.
By expanding course offerings, especially in career and technical education (CTE), and ensuring our teachers have the support and resources they need, we can better prepare our students for college and career pathways.
